Two Tools for Quick Design Work
Two of the most useful AdFlex free tools sit side by side: the QR Code Generator for creating scannable codes, and the Color Palette Generator for building color schemes. Both run entirely in your browser, require no account, and are completely free. This guide shows you how to make a styled QR code step by step, then how to build and export a palette.
Step 1: Choose Your QR Code Type
Open the QR Code Generator and pick what the code should do. There are five input types:
- URL: Opens a website when scanned.
- Text: Shows a plain message.
- WiFi: Connects a phone to your network without typing a password.
- Email: Starts a new email to an address.
- Phone: Dials a number.
Enter the matching details for your chosen type.
Step 2: Style Your Code
A QR code does not have to be plain black squares. You can customize it to match your brand:
- Use a single color or a gradient, and set a separate custom color for the eyes (the three corner squares).
- Choose from four dot styles and three corner styles to change the shape of the code.
- Upload a logo to place in the center. When you add a logo, the tool automatically raises the error-correction level to H so the code still scans reliably with the logo covering part of it.
Step 3: Set Size and Error Correction
Pick an output size between 150 and 1000 pixels depending on whether the code is for screen or print. You can also set the error-correction level directly: L, M, Q, or H. Higher levels add redundancy so the code still works even if it is partly obscured or slightly damaged, which matters most for printed codes.
Step 4: Export Your QR Code
When the code looks right, export it as a PNG for everyday use or as an SVG when you need a sharp, scalable version for print or large displays.
Building a Color Palette
The Color Palette Generator helps you create a coordinated set of colors. It offers six harmony modes: random, analogous, complementary, triadic, split-complementary, and monochromatic. You can generate palettes of 2 to 10 colors and shape them however you like:
- Lock any color you want to keep, then regenerate the rest around it.
- Drag to reorder the colors, and press the Space bar to generate a fresh palette instantly.
- Made a change you did not like? Use undo and redo to step back and forth.
- Extract from an image: upload a photo and pull its dominant colors into a palette.
- Generate shades and tints of any color for a fuller range.
When your palette is ready, export it as CSS variables, a Tailwind config, SCSS, JSON, or a PNG swatch sheet. You can also share a palette by URL, which is handy for sending a scheme to a teammate. If you are setting brand colors for your AdFlex account, see Managing Brand Colors & Palette.
Common Questions
Can I add my logo to a QR code?
Yes. Upload a logo and it is placed in the center of the code. The tool automatically raises the error-correction level to H so the code remains scannable with the logo in place.
What is a WiFi QR code?
It is a QR code that stores your network name and password. When a guest scans it with their phone camera, they connect to your WiFi automatically without typing anything. Choose the WiFi input type to create one.
How do I build a palette from a photo?
Use the extract-from-image feature in the Color Palette Generator. Upload a photo and the tool pulls its dominant colors into an editable palette that you can then refine and export.
What format should I export my palette in?
It depends on where you will use it. Choose CSS variables or SCSS for stylesheets, Tailwind config for a Tailwind project, JSON for code or tooling, or PNG for a visual swatch sheet you can share.
