Make It Yours
Templates are just a starting point. With AdFlex's intuitive editor, you can customize every element to match your campaign goals and brand identity. The goal is to keep the parts of a template that already work, such as the layout balance and visual hierarchy, while swapping in your own message, photos, and colors. This guide walks through the core customizations, step by step, so you can turn any pre-made design into something that feels unmistakably yours.
Before You Start
Open a template first. Browse the library, pick a design that fits your platform and aspect ratio, and click Use Template or Edit to load it into the Design Editor. Once it opens, take a moment to scan the canvas and the right panel so you know which text boxes, images, and shapes make up the design before you begin editing.
Editing Text
Double-click any text box to edit the content. Replace the placeholder copy with your own headline, offer, or call to action. Use the top toolbar to refine how it looks:
- Change fonts, and access your Brand Fonts pinned at the top of the font list for consistency.
- Adjust size, color, and alignment to fit your message and the available space.
- Apply effects like shadows or outlines to help text stand out against busy backgrounds.
Keep headlines short and readable. If you write in Arabic, the editor supports right-to-left text, so your copy will flow correctly within the existing layout.
Replacing Images
To swap an image in a template:
- Click the image you want to replace.
- Go to the Photos or Uploads tab in the sidebar.
- Drag and drop a new image onto the existing one. It will automatically snap into the frame.
This keeps the template's framing and proportions intact while showing your own visuals. You can also pull in AI-generated images or product photoshoots from your assets, which is a fast way to fill a template with on-brand content.
Adjusting Colors
Change the color of backgrounds, shapes, and text to match your identity:
- Select the element.
- Click the color square in the top toolbar.
- Choose from your Brand Colors, document colors, or pick a custom color.
Reusing document colors across several elements keeps the design cohesive instead of mismatched.
Moving and Resizing
Click and drag elements to move them, and drag the corner handles to resize. Use the Position tool to align items perfectly or change layer order so the right elements sit on top. Dragging from a corner keeps proportions consistent, which helps logos and photos avoid looking stretched.
Tips and Best Practices
- Change one type of element at a time, such as all text first, then images, then colors, so the design stays organized.
- Preserve the original spacing and alignment; templates are balanced on purpose.
- Set up your Brandbook fonts and colors first so they are ready to apply as you edit.
Common Issues
My replacement image looks cropped
The frame controls what is visible. Reposition the image inside its frame, or resize it so the important part of the photo stays in view.
My text no longer fits
Shorten the copy or reduce the font size, and re-check alignment so it sits cleanly within the layout.
